Ultiworld Send It Back

A couple Thursdays ago, I participated in the Ultiworld Send It Back series with Jenny Wei (a Raleigh Radiance player). The two of us provided commentary on the Gridlock vs Radiance semifinal game from 2019. I have watched numerous ultimate game "rewinds" during this time of social distancing as there is no ultimate being played (or new games to watch), and I'm always met with some combination of longing, nostalgia, amusement, frustration, anger, and excitement.

Some days I devour ultimate film, and other days I just need to step away. However, when I was asked to take part in the Send It Back series, I just couldn't say no. I knew it would be different from providing live play-by-play commentary (and for this I was very thankful - I have immense respect for the people who have the talent and courage to do that), but I was still nervous and anxious about what I could offer.

As soon as we went live though, all of my hesitations disappeared. I had a BLAST. Jenny Wei was the perfect co-commentator and we had so much fun. It was such a great experience reliving the good moments and getting to gush about my amazing teammates (and throw a few respectful digs at Raleigh). I'm grateful that we are still finding ways to stay connected during this time and looking forward to the day when we can all step out on the field together again.
